Abstract:  DB2 10 has a number of features that significantly enhance data warehouse query performance. The DB2 team has implemented a very successful star join technique called the zigzag join that was used in Redbrick. Indexes are core performance objects in database systems. Attend this presentation to learn about this technique and what you need to do to exploit this technology. Do you have too many indexes on a table ? With a new jump-scan technique in DB2 10, you may be able to reduce the number of indexes you define on the table.
