Abstract:  Social Networking for the Database Professional: Everyone is being exposed to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and a host of other social networking sites. Are they worth your time? Maybe, if you can determine which ones are of value. Then once you do that, how do you convince management to allow access to them. These sites can be a wealth of technical information that can be used to enhance your personal social footprint. This session will promote discussions about what's "out there" today to help build your skills. We will also encourage discussion on how you can contribute to what's out there and how to correctly establish your own social presence on the internet.
