IDUG Performance Article - Class of Service

Performance consideratons have to span all aspects of the database and application operations. As application development continues to become more generic and service oriented, the lines between online and batch processing are becoming blurred. IDUG Content Committee member John Maenpaa works every day in a very complex high volume environment where performance is critical. Faced with the challenges of managing applications developed as services, John has proposed establishing Class of Service as a means of managing application performance in a diverse environment.
