Happy holidays from IDUG! I hope you have enjoyed spending time with friends and family throughout the past month celebrating the holidays and the New Year. In 2015, IDUG will experience many new and exciting changes. A re-vamped website and changes to the IDUG DB2 Tech Conference in Philadelphia are just a few of the things we’re excited to share with you! Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
Looking back, IDUG saw great success in 2014. Successful conferences in Prague and Phoenix drew attendees from across the world, and the launch of IDUG’s mobile app helped to make each attendee’s experience unique.
My favorite experience in 2014 was definitely being at the IDUG conferences and having the opportunity to meet up with the DB2 community in general, but in particular spending quality time with IDUG friends that have accumulated over the years.
Sometimes such friendship develops into true friendships outside of the IDUG sphere. My heart is still full of beautiful memories from the 10 October days that my wife Elisabeth and I got to spend at the home of former IDUG President Joe Borges and his lovely partner Yvonne.
Volunteering with IDUG is all about relating to other people and creating something of value for the whole DB2 community, and at times it so happens that strong friendships materialize out of that. The IDUG life is beautiful in that sense. I hope you've developed a few friendships within IDUG during the past year, and I encourage you to strengthen these bonds in 2015!
2014 was a great year for IDUG and we’re thrilled to spend 2015 with you at any of IDUG’s upcoming events.
