Tackling overall database performance can be a formidable task when there are multiple underlying causes. By identifying and prioritizing the improvements to be made to our databases at Werner, we've been able to achieve a 75% improvement in overall query time. Come take a look at how we brought significantly improved performance to our databases. Some of the changes we've made to our environment may very well be helpful for you!

Learn how to identify the root causes of poor performance and then prioritize a reasonably sane approach to addressing those root causes.
See some of the challenges and details involved with migrating a set of databases to an entirely new hardware platform, new OS and new DB2 version all at once.
See our experiences with STMM and how it helped us initially, but why we eventually turned most of it off.
DB2 Compression was applied after the migration. See options for how to deploy compression and the resulting performance boost.
Identifying clustering indexes and MDCs are providing the next overall performance improvement for us.
