Not logged tablespaces in DB2 9 looks very interesting, but there are a number of issues which need to be considered prior to exploiting this feature. We will look into the syntax changes, where this new feature can / should be used as well as the alternatives. Application / SQL processing implications need to be considered prior to exploiting this new feature, and the same goes for backup and recovery procedures. These two topics will be covered in detail and recommendations outlined when considering NOT LOGGED tablespaces.
