This presentation will look at considerations to improve query performance in a warehouse from various angles that influence the IBM DB2 optimizer. It will cover: 1) database schema layout considerations, including database partitioning, table partitioning and multi-dimensional clustering considerations; 2) performance layer considerations, including indexing and materialized query tables; 3) tuning considerations, including configuration settings and statistics; and 4) application design considerations and SQL best practices.
