The DB2 Attachment Facilities provide the interfaces between our programs and the databases. What are they? Which one should we use? This presentation will cover the basics of each of the attachment facilities along with how and when it should be used.

EXP. LEVEL: Beginner,Intermediate

OBJECTIVES:

The TSO Attachment Facility is often used for batch and TSO access to DB2.

The CICS Attachment Facility is always used by CICS when connecting to DB2.

The Call Attach Facility and RRS Attach Facility have a lot in common, providing more control over the DB2 connection than the prior facilities.

So far so good. Now what about those Java programs?
