Once you understand a software product very well - meaning inside out and asleep, and you put on your innovation hat, it is amazing how many tasks you can complete faster and how much you can automate. Innovation is also about thinking outside the scope - and eliminate the thoughts about what the software really was developed for. This session will provide innovative usage of CA Database Analyzer to mass generate scripts, change a large number of objects based on specific criteria, how to combine knowledge from different software products - or simply generate sophisticated housekeeping procedures.

EXP. LEVEL: Beginner,Intermediate,Advanced

OBJECTIVES:

A look into the engine - default symbolic variables and homegrown variables.

Create procedures for e.g. every database - like DDL baselines.

Schema management - like generate DDL ALTER statements based on characteristics.

Use the combination of a LOG tool to capture DML.

One step further to activate pre- and post model JCL pieces.
