InfoSphere Warehouse best practices resulted in the creation of the IBM Smart Analytics System. It is THE poster-child for data warehouse best practices in action. The IBM Smart Analytics System is designed to exploit the best of breed hardware and software technology as it applies to data warehousing. This presentation will cover the basic design principles of the IBM Smart Analytics System, with the details about why they were implemented the way they are.

OBJECTIVES:

Introduce and discuss the concepts of modular warehouse design, and how to build a flexible, scalable data warehouse appliance.

Provide a detailed explanation of how the IBM Smart Analytics System exploits new hardware technologies, and how to align with System x/p hardware evolution

Explain how to fully exploit fundamental InfoSphere Warehouse (ie. DB2 DPF) capabilities, through proven data warehouse best practices.

How can a customer can leverage what is done by IBM. IBM is the "early adopter" so you don't have to be.

Discuss the IBM Smart Analytics System, and the solution level capabilities that help with management, maintenance and monitoring of your data warehouse
