There are database design choices and operational techniques that can reduce outages. We discuss designing tables and structures with 24x7 in mind with the following concepts: rule base table structures, segregate tables to maintain table information (partition keys etc.), flexible code table design, and referential Integrity and constraints. We will also cover some techniques through application coding for 24x7.
