The SQL/XML standard defines XML-related functionality. In this presentation we give a sneak peek of SQL/XML support in the project Viper. Using SQL/XML functionality it is possible to integrate both worlds: XML data can be queried from within SQL, relational data can be turned into XML, single values extracted from an XML document or an XML query result transformed into a table for further processing.
