Mainframe DBA's point of view on how to set up a LINUX/OS390 system running DB2 UDB LUW V8.1.5. It will cover some of the issues that you have to face in order to set up the system, copy data from mainframe. At my shop we set this system up for a pilot for a Data Warehouse application. We also had a dedicated IFL engine just for the Linux LPAR of 192 MIPs. I also installed IBM's DB2PE to monitor the overall performance.
