After reviewing basic material on understanding and optimizing performance of federated queries, we'll talk about enhancements contained in WebSphere Information Integrator V8.2 and how to best exploit them. These include so-called "fenced" wrappers, local caching, maintenance of nickname statistics, informational constraints, and new types of parallel execution plans available in partitioned and SMP environments.
