XQuery is an important new external interface for DB2 that permits querying of data stored in XML format. The XQuery language is now in the final stages of standardization by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). XQuery is designed to be compatible with other XML-related standards including XPath and XML Schema. This talk will provide a tutorial overview of XQuery and its role in DB2.
