We had created a datamart of various DB2 tables, with a total size of 450 GB. We initially used load/replace DB2 utilities. One table was physically partitioned, while the remainder were simple tables. We had numerous issues, including regular DB2 space abends, long running jobs and poor query performance. The solution that we came up with was to change all tables to logical partitioning. CPU went from 60hrs to 10hrs.
