Detailed description of IDS 7 & 9 internals including many reserved page data structures. Attendees will gain a clearer knowledge of the internal structure of IDS servers and databases. Observant attendees will have the tools to build utilities to peruse reserved pages. Brave attendees may be able to repair damage, re-path chunks, and other operations that should never be attempted.

EXP. LEVEL: Intermediate

OBJECTIVES:

Relate sysmaster tables to reserved page structure

Review page layout: header & slot table usage

Ideas that will save the day when the feces flies

Interpreting page, dbspace, and chunk flag values

Repair damage when you cannot wait for TS
