DB2 may be over 20 years old but it continues to crank out some very cool enhancements once again with the introduction of DB2 for z/OS Version 8. One of the exciting areas of Version 8 is its SQL. Not only are the SQL enhancements "significant", they will also increase the SQL consistency across the DB2 family. This presentation is a high level overview of the SQL being delivered in DB2 Version 8. Some, but not all, of the features that will be covered are: Multi-row INSERT & FETCH, INSERT within SELECT, SEQUENCES, Dynamic Scrollable Cursors, CURRENT PACKAGE PATH and Materialized Query Tables. The SQL in Version 8 has something new for every customer.
