Microsoft calls Office users Information Workers; what's more, they are considered a development arm of their business. The fact that Microsoft Office's Excel and Access are some of the worlds' most popular reporting and analysis tools sometimes customers needlessly move and stage data to SQL Server for the sole purpose on enabling ends users to use their favorite tools without impacting their productivity. In this session, you'll learn how to hook up your Excel and Access applications to a DB2 server residing on any platform. You'll learn how to expose stored procedures in DB2 as a simple Access query, build reports, and more. In Excel, you'll learn how to get DB2 data into Excel, use Pivot Tables with DB2 data, and even store an Excel spreadsheet on DB2! After completing this session you will have to the tools you need to address concerns from these users with you data delivery platform.
