Indexes are touted as one of the best performance inventions ever. Many times they are your friend, but they can also be your enemy. This presentation looks at how you can check the health of your indexes with reorgchk and catalog queries. For those of you on pre-DB2 9.7 release, we will look at how to use db2pd tcbstats plus catalog queries to collect index usage into a DB2 table. We will also look at how this information can be connected to explain information.
