SPEAKERS: Frank Petersen (Bankdata)

This presentation will go through DB2 with focus on the related or interesting issues in RMF and SMF. There will however also be some general information on how RMF and SMF can be used to help understand general problems in your installation. The presentation is to be considered as a 'brush up', but in many installations DBA'a and z/OS Systems Programmers are so distant from each other that knowledge in this area has been lost or degraded. Even though this is a 'brush up', there will also be advanced stuff. For instance there will be shown ways to extract data from RMF in "almost" real time, which might not be known to everybody. In this way RMF data can easily be included in your performance data warehouse. There will also be a few hints on related issued in Omegamon/DB2.
