Every new DB2 release, maintenance upgrade, or just running RUNSTATS brings the opportunity for changes in access paths after your next static SQL rebind or dynamic SQL execution. Even though the vast majority of SQL shows equal or better performance, we are still measured on the number of failures rather than successes. How can you safeguard yourself against access path regression so that you don't dread the upcoming migration/maintenance?
