Developing applications against DB2 for z/OS using the new IBM Data Studio Developer, requires that certain tasks have been completed and objects created in the DB2 for z/OS server. This presentation will discuss the DB2 for z/OS-specific features in Data Studio Developer, and what the user needs to implement in DB2 for z/OS V8 and V9 so that they can take advantage of these features.

OBJECTIVES:

Introduce the Data Studio Developer (DSD) and the DB2 for z/OS specific features of this tool

Discuss the minimum required setup needed for Data Studio to connect and work with objects in DB2 for z/OS V8 and V9

Discuss additional setup required to support Java and pureQuery development

Discuss the enablement setup job for DB2 for z/OS V9 for DB2 Accessories Suite to enable Data Studio Administration Console and Optimization Service Center

Discuss runtime setup for the Unified Debugger's Session Manager on DB2 for z/OS
