Omegamon provides a performance database, which can be used to stored historical information about DB2 performance (accounting, locking, statistics) etc. This presentation will provide information on how to extract SMF data and load it to the Omegamon Performance database, In addition, this presentation will provide information on how to use the summary and detail tables to track down DB2 performance issues. We will discuss Omegamon Performance warehouse (PWH), and PWH can be used to address application performance issues.

Introduction to Omegamon Performance Warehouse and Omegamon Performance database. Types of information that can be stored in the Performance Database

Discuss summary and detail performance data. Steps required to format SMF 100/101/102 records and load the performance database.

Exploiting the information stored in the performance database. Sample queries to identify performance bottlenecks.

Omegamon Performance Warehouse - How to use the Omegamon GUI to populate the performance warehouse.

Strategies to keep the Omegamon Performance Database in peak shape - Data purging, Partitioning, ROTATION, etc.
