Auditing options on DB2 for z./OS (B15)

This presentation will begin by describing the regulatory landscape and business drivers that require organizations to audit the DB2 for z/OS environment. We will discuss the unique aspects of auditing for the DB2 for z/OS, and will review the native DB2 for z/OS audit trace facility to understand its use and the various reporting options for using audit trace data. Understanding some of the inherent limitations of the native trace facility, and the need for additional audit capabilities, finally we will then review the capabilities and use of the IBM DB2 Audit Management Expert to provide granular audit information surrounding DB2 for z/OS.

Develop an understanding of the native audit trace facility on DB2 fo rz/OS

Understand the changes and improvements to Audit trace delivered by DB2 for z/OS Version 9

Describe the different regulatory and security requirements for audtiing of DB2 trusted users

Understand how DB2 Audit Management Expert extends auditing capabilities on DB2 for z/OS.

Understand how to develop a strategy for implementing an audit approch using DB2 native audit trace facility with minimal performance impact.
