SPEAKERS: Levent Carkacioglu (Central Bank of The Republic of Turkey )

The approach is used in Personnel Informations Systems(PBS) for managers in C.B.R.T. The aim is to satisfy a uniform column and row access to critical tables. We use DB2 views with the DB2 "USER" (userid) token. We create views over tables where each column in the view is checked during select operation and each row is checked from another view dynamically. (by the use of USER token and some other extra tables.)

EXP. LEVEL: Beginner

OBJECTIVES:

column & row access right management using views

usage of "USER" token in DB2

application independent access to critical data

preventing advanced SQL users access critical data

pushing security of critical data down to DB2
