Topic: DB2 for z/OS
DB2 for z/OS V9 and V10 provide a wealth of enhancements targeted toward aiding system programmers. DB2 has been improved with self-healing mechanisms and enhanced serviceability features. These include monitoring and self-healing via the DB2 monitor, monitoring using DB2 commands, and monitoring and managing real and virtual storage. This presentation will give an overview of these features, and also give some best practices for increasing the health of your DB2 systems. Awareness and exploitation of these features and practices can increase availability levels and reduce the total cost of ownership for DB2 for z/OS.
