DB2 development continues to recommend to utilize larger memory to realize CPU savings.
Larger buffer pools are beneficial if you are going to re-reference pages. Is there any good way to estimate your saving with larger buffer pools? Should we increase local or group buffer pools? How about larger EDM or sort pools, do they make sense? This session discusses the practical guides to tune or increase your DB2 pool size based on the experiments from Silicon Valley Lab.
