Topic: DB2 for z/OS
To be able to take advantage of access path enhancements it is important to perform rebinds. But when doing a rebind you run the risk to get access path regression.
To avoid the latter, DB2 for z/OS has introduced a lot of enhancements over the last couple of versions to reduce the chances of access path regression.
This presentation will look at the different options at your disposal to overcome your fear of hitting performance problems when performing rebind operations. We will look at how you can tell DB2 you want to keep your current access path, to compare access paths, and how to revert back to an old (good) access path in case things still don't work out after all.
