Topic: DB2 for z/OS

Subtopic: 2007

DATE: 2007-5-9 (03:00 PM - 04:00 PM)
SPEAKERS: Calene Janacek (BMC Software)

DB2 for z/OS made great strides in providing the ability to make changes to DB2 objects while keeping them online and available. Not all changes that can be made to DB2 objects are supported online. And those online changes that are supported have other hidden costs and considerations. This session will show you how to convert with the least amount of interruption or performance impact. We will also cover table-controlled partitioning, DPSIs and the ability to revert to index-controlled partitioning. This session discusses how BMC Software’s CHANGE MANAGER for DB2 and CATALOG MANAGER for DB2 maximize your use of Online Schema Changes in DB2.

EXP. LEVEL: Beginner,Intermediate

Learn what schema changes can be made online and which ones must be performed with a drop/rebuild
