RELEASE (DEALLOCATE) and KEEPDYNAMIC(YES) bind options are getting more focus to reduce CPU consumption by the expense of virtual storage and real storage. Especially these options can be viable solutions once you are in DB2 10 where virtual storage constraint is no longer dominant issue. However, if used incorrectly, these options could cause unexpected consequence or performance behavior. This session is to take deep dive on these two important bind options and explain their potential benefit and limitations. The discussion covers various topics related with these two bind options and best practices using them.
