With SQL, there are so many different ways to get the same result set. Often, the biggest problem facing application programmers and DBAs is not just how to get the result set, but rather the fastest way to do it. In this presentation we will look at some fairly common SQL tasks and evaluate the different ways to accomplish them. We will try to determine which method will be the most efficient for a particular situation.

-Existence checking
-Finding duplicates
-Generating dates using recursive SQL
-Evaluating benefits of each technique
-Useful tips and techniques using built in functions
