ADP itself experiencing up to 10% annual increases in CPU usage rates and unexpected degradation of user response times. Both dynamic and static SQL queries were taking longer to process and batch-processing windows were expanding into routine operational hours, making it challenging to meet service level agreements (SLAs). This session will detail how ADP overcame these challenges by quickly identifying long-running queries and enabling its developers and database administrators to efficiently customize and finde-tune the performance of their SQL and query workloads. This resulted in a saving of over 100 hours per week in manual troubleshooting, diagnostics and remedies, improved overall system performance and dramatically reduced downtime and associated costs that occurred while responding to problems.
