Proper table organizations in DB2 for Linux, UNIX, Windows provide an environment tailored for high-performance, ready to accelerate your applications. There is a challenge for the user in determining which tables to convert to column organization in their databases under BLU Acceleration.
In this session, we will first briefly review column organizations for DB2 LUW 10.5 with BLU Acceleration. We will then describe a set of best practices in adopting BLU acceleration for your database. We will then focus on a complete end to end scenario where users go through a conversion of table organizations as well as compare the workload performance before and after the conversion.
During this session you will learn how to analyze how your tables are used in a workload as well as restrictions on when a table cannot be converted to column organization. You will also be provided an applied set of best practices, recommendations and tools to further enable you in making the right kind of table organization conversions.
