This session will discuss the concept of SQL review process, why it is important for developers, and the best practices of carrying our SQL review. We describe the process of query optimization and how optimizer would consider various access paths. We discuss several basic query tuning techniques such as creating the right indexes and collecting proper statistics. We further drill down on query tuning techniques in several advanced scenarios such as queries involving Declare Global Temporary Table, queries in SQL Stored Procedures, and tuning a group of queries together.
