Subtopic: DB2 for z/OS
DASD access is the weakest link in DB2 performance. Going out from the fast lane of CPU & bufferpools to the DASD carries a high penalty in response time and can bring your system down on its' knees.
We'll see what happens in DASD land and what DB2 has in store to handle that.
