In the Analytics era, DB2 for z/OS is not just the platform running the most critical transactions but the platform running operational analytics applications influencing the decision of many the largest enterprises.
Different from simple queries for transactions, complex queries for operational analytics bring new challenges to DBAs and developers. How to analyze a query consisting of 60 UNIONs? How to determine whether the join sequence of a query referencing 50 tables is optimal? How to simplify development as well as improve performance of complex queries.
In this session, we will share case studies to answer these questions and introduce the methodology , tools and tips of tuning and developing complex queries for analytics.
