SPEAKERS: Paul Zikopoulos (IBM Toronto Lab)

If you're a DBA, you should at least be familiar with the technology and methodology that surrounds Service Oriented Architecture; the basis of agile development in a loosely coupled world. In this session, you'll not only learn about the key concepts of SOA (it's a methodology BEFORE the technology), but you'll also watch just how easy it is to build Web Services (to support SOA) using the cross IBM data server (Informix and DB2), almost any version technology called IBM Data Web Services. In fact, someone from the audience will be selected to come on stage and do it themselves (success 100% guaranteed) since IBM ships a toolset that enables you to expose business logic as Web Services with mouse clicks: no programming required!
