Discuss the power of IBM Data Studio Developer for developing native SQL stored procedures for DB2 for z/OS v9. This presentation will discuss the advantages of using native SQL stored procedures. A step-by-step presentation of how to use the tool to develop native SQL SPS will be discussed, and in the end, we will discuss the use of the Unified Debugger for debugging native SQL SPs.

OBJECTIVES:

Introduce IBM Data Studio as a tool for developing native SQL stored procedures

List the advantages of using native SQL stored procedures, and compare them to external SQL stored procedures.

Present the wizards and dialogs used when developing native SQL stord procedures

Discuss the capabilities for debugging native SQL stored procedures

Discuss advanced capabilities the customer can do with native SQL SPs such as binary deploy, versioning, package variation, and converting an external SQL stored procedue to a native SQL stored procedure.
