This presentation first reviews the basics of the IBM DB2 REORG utility: why reorg, what it does and how to run it. Then follows by an indepth analysis of the various tuning and parameter choosing of REORG to achieve optimal performance and availability on various database objects being reorganized. Upon completion of this session, the attendee, whose skill level may range from low to high, will be able to understand how the DB2 REORG utility works, and learn how to execute the REORG utility effectively with minimal outage in today's 24/7 world.
