In each release, DB2 for z/OS continues to add new functionality and address new business challenges. However, performance is one area that remains as important today as when DB2 was first announced.This presentation is aimed at DBAs and Systems programmers who are new to performance monitoring and tuning. It provides an overview of monitoring and tuning concepts, and addresses the key skills needed for both application and subsystem monitoring.

Provide an understanding of basic performance monitoring and tuning concepts.

Provide an overview of the major components that impact performance in a DB2 for z/OS environment.
