SPEAKERS: Farid Hosseini (Performadvance Inc)

There have been different techniques to manage the performance of a database, such as monitoring hit ratios, overflows, wait times, different snapshot outputs, rules of thumbs, etc. Though, the most effective way of looking at the performance of a database is to directly look at the performance of the submitted queries to the database and evaluate the database's performance on query basis. We will see the tools and techniques to go right to the queries and rank those based on their performance. Then we can analyze the most effective actions we can take to improve the performance of those queries and the overall database performance as a whole.
