Ruby on Rails with DB2 as the database is now ready for production use. This presentation covers the first live application which I have been involved in producing using this exciting new development framework. After a brief introduction to RoR (I covered this in depth at last year's conference), I will look at how the DB2 support for RoR has matured over the last year. I will then describe the development and implementation of an application which is now in real world use. It uses Web 2.0 (AJAX) techniques and exploits DB2 technologies such as pureXML, stored procedures, triggers and LOBs.It will cover development techniques, implementation techniques and the performance characteristics of the (generated) SQL from RoR.
