This presentation covers buffer pool enhancements made in DB2 for z/OS V8 and DB2 9 for z/OS. In the presentation, we review the 64-bit buffer pool design and some performance tuning recommendations for large buffer pools. You'll also learn how to enable the DB2 9 goal-oriented buffer pool management for automatic buffer pool tuning . Due to the workfile design changes in DB2 9, the also covers some performance tuning recommendations for workfile buffer pool. The presentation also discusses several miscellaneous buffer manager enhancements in DB2 9.
