This presentation will discuss how developers and DBAs can use Optimization Service Center (OSC) to analyze and tune individual queries and query workloads. Individual query tuning capabilities covered include:- Statistics Advisor to ensure appropriate statistics have been collected- Query annotation to display the optimizer transformed, formatted, and annotated query text.- Query report to generate a table, index, indexed column report to assist with query analysis, as well as index/predicate reports to assist with index analysis.- Visual Explain to perform deep analysis of the selected access path.- Visual Plan Hint to graphically generate an optimization hint.Attendees will also learn how to use OSC to generate a workload to profile an application and generate RUNSTATS targeted to the workload.
