This session will introduce the latest version of this free DB2 data server. It will explain in detail the use cases for this product and how to apply it in your environments. You will learn the differences between DB2 Express-C and the other editions of DB2, You will also hear about pureXML, replication and high availability. You will learn how to deploy this product in hundreds or even thousands of locations and keep it running with minimum effort and cost. There are other free data servers out there and this session will contrast DB2 Express-C with open source offerings such as MySQL and PosgreSQL as well as commercial data servers form Oracle and Microsoft.
