Topic: 2008 NA

Subtopic: IMS

DATE: 2008-05-21 (09:45 AM - 10:45 AM)
SPEAKERS: David Viguers (IMS Development)

As more and more installations are implementing or thinking about multi site sysplexenvironments for availability and disaster recovery it is important to understandthe performance implications to your IMS transactions and databases. IBM performedsome benchmarking of IMS and other subsystems at various distances to betterunderstand these implications and this information will be used to demonstrate theimpact and ways it might be minimized.

EXP. LEVEL: Intermediate

OBJECTIVES:

IMS configuration for multi site sysplex

Coupling Facility response time impact

DASD response time impact at distance

Distance impact on IMS transaction response times
