DB2 for z/OS performance monitoring remains a key practice for mainframe organizations, but as experienced DBAs begin to retire, how do their less experienced replacements pick up where they left off? This "survival guide" is a quick start overview of DB2 performance tuning today, and what needs to be done to make applications run efficiently tomorrow. It explains the four areas of focus in DB2 performance tuning, includes a Top Ten list of performance bugs to watch out for, and gives examples of how Compuware Strobe can assist analysts to quickly find them. The survival guide is applicable to both DBAs and application developers in the mainframe DB2 environment.
