Attend this session to learn all about new XML features in DB2 V9.1. Learn how to determine if you need an XML database or a traditional relational database design. DB2 XML Design Best Practices will be presented. The following features will be presented: XQuery, XPath, XML Engine, new DB2 XML datatype, XDM, and DB2 Hybrid XML Engine. Learn how to create XML schemas and indexes. Understand how DB2 implements these XML objects under the covers. Learn the basics of developing high performing XML applications. DB2 Hybrid XML Architecture will be outlined. The second session will show you how to construct, exploit and implement DB2 XML applications. How to get started with DB2 XML applications will be highlighted. SOAP, Web Services, and XML integration will be presented. Upon completion of these sessions, you will have a full understanding of the new DB2 V9.1 XML capabilities and will be able to design and develope XML databases and top performing XML/SQL applications.
