Using EGL technology for migration of Informix-4GL application to J2EE (I14)

After general overview of EGL technology will be demonstrated how to create Web database application from scratch using JSP and EGL. This part of demonstration includes generation of all required EGL data structures and functions by standard available wizard. This demonstration will be used for explanation of all components of EGL Web project. These knowledges will be used later for migration of Informix-4GL application to Web environment. Before this final migration step will be migrated Informix-4GL demo application first to characater user interface Java environment. Generated EGL modules from this step will be used for the final part of the migration. During migration will be demonstated also different formats of reporting. Whole functionality will be demonstrated in the prepared environment and all will be presented as live demonstration.

EXP. LEVEL: Beginner

OBJECTIVES:

Introduction to EGL technology will be given. This part bring the clarification of the structure of EGL program,will be explained the basic components of the language.

All necessary informations about wizards for fast generations of components or full Web applications will be demostrated

New Web application will be created using JSP and JavaServer componets. Automatically generated records and data itemswill be used as handler EGL code for new EGL Web application.

The demonstartion also present the functionality of reporting into different formats (TEXT, XML, HTML, PDF)with possible modifications.

Necessary steps for configuration of WebSphere application server for database Web project will be also presented
